Our History

Identifying the need for a company that could provide C-suite service and accommodations to underserved—yet distinct and important—cities while maintaining and celebrating the unadulterated character of those cities, Aparium was founded in 2011 by Chicago hospitality executive and entrepreneur Mario Tricoci.

With an intense focus on unearthing those singular moments unique to every city, Aparium was born of the belief that all hospitality experiences should be fueled by the poetics of their surroundings.

Since its founding, Aparium has set itself apart as a new kind of hotel brand—one that allows itself to venture off the beaten path, both geographically and philosophically. It is a sophisticated hotel brand known for its ability to combine the business acumen of large hospitality companies with the charm of boutique hotels, combining those disparate forces to great success in bustling, smaller markets.

 

Aparium has experienced tremendous growth in the intervening years sprouting up in locations as diverse as the re-emergent downtown Detroit, Michigan; the burgeoning North Loop neighborhood of Minneapolis, Minnesota; the flourishing Crossroads district of Kansas City, Missouri; the eclectic and diverse town of Montclair, New Jersey; the dynamic historic enclave of Ybor City in Tampa, Florida; the tony enclave of Birmingham, Michigan; the vibrant downtown of Fargo, North Dakota; and the hip neighborhood of Cherry Creek in Denver, Colorado, also home to Aparium’s first-ever members’ club.
